چکیده
Results 107 of the total 145 patients admitted to PACU were able to be extubated. However, only 79(54.5%) patients were able to be extubated within four hours. Within the success group, we found that age (OR = 0.912; 95% CI = 0.0441.779) and duration of ventilator weaning (OR = 0.813; 95% CI = 0.698-0.928) significantly influenced the extubation time with p-value of 0.040 and <0.001 respectively. Within the failure group, age (HR = 1.061; 95% CI = 1.018-1.105), EUROscore II (HR = 2.303; 95% CI = 1.4163.748), cardiopulmonary bypass time (HR = 1.015; CI 95% 1.005-1.025), aortic cross-clamp time (HR = 1.023; 95% CI = 1.010-1.037) and post-operative inotropic usage (HR = 2.892; 95% CI = 1.637-5.109) significantly affect failure of extubation with p-values of 0.005, 0.001, 0.004, 0.001 and <0.001 respectively.

Retrospective Analysis of Fast-Track Extubation Protocol for Cardiac Surgical Population in Tertiary Care Hospital: A 2 Years’ Experience
Background: Fast-track cardiac anesthesia aims to reduce the extubation time after cardiac surgery. Reduction in extubation time results in massive cost saving in terms of reduction in intensive care unit stay. In this era of health-care cost escalation, this can effectively reduce the burden on health-care system without compromising patient outcome. We here present a retrospective analysis of...
متن کاملCardiac surgery fast-track treatment in a postanesthetic care unit: six-month results of the Leipzig fast-track concept.
BACKGROUND The authors compared the safety and efficacy of a newly developed fast-track concept at their center, including implementation of a direct admission postanesthetic care unit, to standard perioperative management. METHODS All fast-track patients treated within the first 6 months of implementation of our direct admission postanesthetic care unit were matched via propensity scores and...
متن کاملRisk factor analysis for fast track protocol failure
BACKGROUND The introduction of fast-track treatment procedures following cardiac surgery has significantly shortened hospitalisation times in intensive care units (ICU). Readmission to intensive care units is generally considered a negative quality criterion. The aim of this retrospective study is to statistically analyse risk factors and predictors for re-admission to the ICU after a fast-trac...

Objectives The current study aimed at serving the effects of continuous and interval exercise training on decreasing the depression and anxiety in patients with heart diseases after coronary artery bypass graft surgery. Methods The research method was semi-experimental and the statistical population included the cardiac patients after coronary artery bypass graft surgery at Tehran Heart Cente...
متن کاملFast Track Extubation In Adult Patients On Pump Open Heart Surgery At A Tertiary Care Hospital.
Background Fast-track cardiac surgery programs have been established as the standard of cardiac surgical care. Studies have shown that early extubation in elective cardiac surgery patients, including coronary and non-coronary open-heart surgery patients does not increase perioperative morbidity and mortality. The objective of this observational study was to determine the success and failure pro...
